I'm back

Geeze, leave the country for a bit and everything changes. There's a bunch of new 'bot's hanging around the Autobot base now, and I'd bet the Decepticons have more mechs too.

Eh, it might take a bit to catch up with what's been going on here in Detroit, but the trip was worth it. I've managed to make some, heh, lucrative contacts over in Europe and Asia (slag, what won't some humans do to get their hands on alien tech?), and I brought back a few things. Good thing, too, since the market over here keeps expanding. *gleefully rubs hands together* I knew staying on Earth for a bit was a good idea.

Hey, Aperture. You still needing those upgrades? I've got everything you could want and more, now. We should meet up and talk prices.

(OOC: about Aperture and Vassal: Are we pretty much done with that RP? I can clean it up and post it if we are.

EDIT: Anyone up for a log? I'd love to get to know someone who's joined since I went on hiatus at the beginning of summer... or have Chase catch up with an old friend. :D )

OOC- not dead

Apologies to those I was RPing with. Am graduated now, so now have time but due to continuing computer troubles may not be really back online until next week. Even this comp is iffy. Sorry, all.

Another Battle

If there's one thing to be said about a nomadic lifestyle, it's a lot simpler. That's twice now, TWICE, that I've ended up in the middle of an Autobot/Decepticon pit fight on this planet. That makes my fifth real battle, ever. I'm becoming a right old veteran, hah! And this time I actually got involved! Don't know what I was thinking, 'cept I heard that Autobot get hit and just let my instincts take over. That's bad, Chase, bad. Do that again and you're gonna get yourself offlined.

Right, enough with the morose slag. Get ahold of yourself, Chase. You're making yourself depressed.

On the brighter side, met another neutral; Skyline, was the name. Have to see if I can find her again, have a real chat without all the shooting going on. But first I'm gonna go see if I can find a storm to fly through, clear my processor a bit. Even a little one would do; doesn't even need lightning, so long as there's some decent wind and rain.

Been Away a While

Sorry this journal has been so quiet lately. I’ve been gone a while. Had to get out of the area; there was all kinds a tension building up, what with the Decepticons being sneakier than usual and the Autobots acting nervous. Saw that Autobot ninja one morning. He glared at me. A real glare, not those only-kinda-irritated ones old bots like Ratchet like to dish out to every mech they meet. Made me paranoid.

I’ve never had to deal with Autobots and Decepticons who were in such close proximity before. It’s a lot harder than just dealing with one or two from the same faction at a time. And both the neutrals here seem mostly interested in information. I don’t like dealing in info; that gets dirty fast. Usually I travel such large distances, any info I might happen to pick up is pretty much obsolete by the time I get to someone who’d be interested in it. That ain’t true here. It’s wearing on my nerves, having to be so alert all the time.

So I went on a little trip, looking for these thunderstorms I keep hearing about. Found one, too, and frag, those’re fun. Just about got my circuits fried. Can’t wait till ‘hurricane season.’

But now I’ve come back and it looks like, how do the humans put it? ‘The shit hit the fan.’ Still not entirely sure what’s happening; I just got here. Am writing this log from the air, actually. Y’know, just in case somebody gets in a lucky shot. Frag, this’d be so much easier if there were only Autobots here, or only Decepticons. Why both at once? Why?

Part of me just wants to leave this planet entirely, but frag, it’s been so long since I’ve been around this many Cybertronians for any real length of time. I’m tired of being in space alone.

Well, here goes nothing.

I've been exploring

Spent the last few days flying over other nearby cities, just getting an idea of what’s here. Think I’ll be ready to try a slightly longer trip soon. Won’t be going over any of the oceans. I want to test how this alt form might have changed my long-range abilities with someplace to actually land if something goes wrong. But there’s gotta be plenty to look at just going west over this continent, or south. Think I’ll see if any a the other neutrals 'round here want to come with.

Am slowly making friends

This place is a goldmine! There’s an aft-load of different cultures, languages… if my primary contacts wanted nothing but information on organics, the work of an hour could set me up for the next few hundred vorns. Too bad most of my customers want physical goods. But I think I’ve got a few Autobots back on Cybertron who might be interested in some of the information on the language, and a few more who’d probably pay decent money for some of the music. For now, though… six thousand languages! Six thousand! I wonder how much room I can set aside in my processor to store some of them in…

This 'internet' is a helpful tool, but the information on it isn’t even close to being complete. Looks like I’m going to be doing some traveling if I really want to look into potential trading materials. That’s fine with me, though; just sitting around on my aft day after day would get really boring.

There are more Cybertronians on this planet than I’ve seen in one spot since leaving Cybertron. Met a few more of them yesterday, including another war-bot who’s probably just as old as Ratchet. Hope I didn’t slag him off. I may have, uh, let my mouth run away with me a bit more than usual towards the end of our conversation. But slag, he’s intimidating! He’s got that look, the one that says “I know what I’m doing and you’d better obey me or else.” That look is scary. I’m just glad the Prime doesn’t have it; he’s too young, I guess. But from what I understand, there’s more Autobots coming, and this time there’s going to be some big names with them… I think I might be making myself scarce around the Autobot hangout pretty soon.

Day 2

The Autobots introduced me to a few members of this planet’s dominant species. Organics. Haven’t dealt with intelligent organics all that much. It’d probably be worth my time to keep in contact with that Sumdac guy.

They seem to really like the tiny one, Sari. She’s constantly climbing all over them. That’s gotta be more ticklish than having a retro-rat nibbling on your wiring.

The Prime offered to let me stay with them, but I said no. I’m not part of their team, and I don’t want to be. Just thinking about what would happen if a Decepticon showed up and found me living with a bunch of Autobots makes me cringe. Slag, that’d be awkward. My business prospects would plummet. Decepticons aren’t as bad with the gossip as Autobots, but that doesn’t mean word wouldn’t get around.

Day 1 on the planet called Earth

Made planetfall. This place is crawling with organics. Found the Autobot ship; it wasn't as abandoned as I thought. At least I'm in contact with one of my old customers again. His name's Ratchet; he's serving as medic to the ship's crew.

Since it looks like I could be here a while, I'm looking into the local culture. This 'internet' thing is useful enough, I guess. Not as extensive as Cybertron's information networks, but at least it's easier to get around in undetected. Found this 'livejournal' website and I think I'll start putting my personal logs up here, starting with the log made just before I came down to the planet.

(from personal memory banks)

I’ve picked up an Autobot signal. It seems to be coming from the surface of the third planet in this star’s solar system. Surprised me a bit; this system is pretty out of the way to be finding Autobots. The signal is a little muddled, like it’s coming from underground or is underpowered or something. I sent down a hail, but there’s been no reply so I’m thinking the ship either crashed or was abandoned. Maybe both. Or maybe my message just wasn’t strong enough for them to pick up. I don’t want to risk sending anything stronger, though. The planet is definitely inhabited, and for all I know the natives are the ones who brought down the ship in the first place. Picking up some local cameo will definitely have to be first priority on this one. But it’ll be worth the trouble; I’m starting to run low on energy, and an Autobot ship is bound to have all sorts of goodies on board.
